Market Access Coordinator
About this role
One Acre Fund is seeking a Market Access Coordinator to join its Tanzania programme, which has supported smallholder farmers since 2013 and currently serves more than 100,000 farmers across Iringa, Mbeya, Njombe, and Moshi regions. This full-time fixed-term role is based in Mtwara, Tanzania, and will report to the Market Access Specialist as part of a cross-functional team that includes Extension, Logistics, MEL, Procurement, and BizOps. The coordinator will be responsible for farmer engagement and market access coordination across assigned areas, working directly with farmers, farmer groups, and cooperatives to strengthen market participation and commercial readiness, while identifying and addressing field-level barriers to market access. The role also encompasses aggregation, quality control, and post-harvest handling support to improve market readiness, including coordinating linkages between farmers and buyers, processors, or other off-takers and aligning farmer supply with market requirements on quality, timing, and volume.
The coordinator will facilitate farmer training on quality standards, collective marketing, and basic business skills, with a specific focus on inclusion of youth, women, and underserved farmers. The role requires ad hoc support to processing and value addition activities and coordination of field-to-processing linkages. Applicants must hold a Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, Business Administration, Marketing, International Development, Social Sciences, or a closely related field, and must have a minimum of two years of professional experience in market access, agricultural value chains, or agribusiness. Hands-on experience working directly with smallholder farmers, farmer groups, or cooperatives is essential.
The contract is offered for one year with health insurance and paid time off included. Applications close on 04 September 2026 and are reviewed on a rolling basis until a hire is made. The role is open only to citizens or permanent residents of Tanzania.
