Regional Program Coordinator, Market Access

One Acre Fund

About this role

One Acre Fund is a nonprofit social enterprise founded in 2006 that equips smallholder farmers across nine sub-Saharan African countries with the tools, training, and services needed to make their farms more productive. The organisation currently serves 5.5 million farmers, providing high-quality farm supplies, tree seedlings, accessible credit, and modern agronomic training. On average, farmers in the programme increase their income and assets by more than 35 percent while building long-term resilience. The Tanzania programme, established in 2013, supports more than 100,000 farmers and is headquartered in Iringa with additional offices in Mbeya, Njombe, and Moshi.

One Acre Fund is recruiting a Regional Program Coordinator to lead farmer-facing market access activities at the regional level in Tanzania. The coordinator will develop market access opportunities, coordinate farmer-facing programmes, and work directly with farmers and cooperatives to strengthen their commercial readiness while identifying field-level barriers to market participation. Responsibilities include supporting aggregation, quality control, and post-harvest handling to improve market readiness, facilitating training on quality standards and business skills, and ensuring diverse farmer participation including youth, women, and underserved groups. The role requires managing relationships across multiple teams including Market Access, Extension, Logistics, MEL, Procurement, and BizOps, tracking implementation progress, and supporting data quality for temporary staff or data collectors.

Candidates must hold a Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, Business Administration, Marketing, International Development, Social Sciences, or a closely related field, with a minimum of two years of professional experience in market access, agricultural value chains, or agribusiness. Hands-on experience working directly with smallholder farmers, farmer groups, or cooperatives is essential. This is a one-year fixed-term contract based in Mtwara, Tanzania, with health insurance and paid time off provided. Applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of Tanzania.

Applications close on 04 September 2026, with hiring on a rolling basis. One Acre Fund is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion and is a proud equal opportunity employer.
