Trees and Carbon Supervisor
About this role
One Acre Fund is seeking a Trees and Carbon Supervisor to direct the field-level delivery of its integrated Trees and Carbon programme across 6 to 15 assigned sites in Tanzania. The role directly manages a team of 6 to 15 Tree and Carbon Officers, translating regional carbon and agroforestry targets into daily execution plans and ensuring all activities meet established quality standards. Core responsibilities include conducting weekly field visits to coach staff, verify farmer eligibility data, and support underperforming sites; monitoring team KPIs and championing data integrity through unannounced field audits to implement corrective actions; coordinating seedling distribution logistics, mobilising farmers to prevent waste, and overseeing post-distribution training to maximise long-term tree survival rates; leading weekly team meetings, building individualised career growth plans for officers, and stepping in to cover field activities during staff absences. The supervisor is also expected to foster a workplace culture rooted in psychological safety, customer service, and One Acre Fund's diversity, equity, and inclusion values while actively managing operational costs and staffing efficiencies.
Candidates must hold an advanced diploma or higher qualification in a relevant field, demonstrate experience managing field teams, and have proficiency with data reporting platforms such as KOBO. The preferred start date is as soon as possible. 5 million smallholder farmers across nine African countries with farm supplies, tree seedlings, credit, and agronomic training. Its Tanzania programme, established in 2013, supports more than 100,000 farmers and is headquartered in Iringa with offices in Mbeya, Njombe, and Moshi.
This is a one-year fixed-term contract based in Njombe, Tanzania, with health insurance and paid time off included. The role is open only to citizens or permanent residents of Tanzania. Applications close on 24 August 2026 and are reviewed on a rolling basis until a hire is made.
