About this role
The World Food Programme (WFP) is seeking a Volunteer for its Management Services unit based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The Management Services Volunteer will serve as a first point of contact for internal queries, facilitating the efficient and effective resolution of daily issues while maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with discretion.
Core responsibilities include managing courier and shipment services by receiving, documenting, and dispatching official packages and mail; coordinating with courier companies and internal units to ensure timely delivery; tracking consignments; and maintaining up-to-date logs. The role also encompasses drafting, formatting, and proofreading various documents, preparing and sending routine correspondence, and maintaining records and archives for proper storage and accessibility. The incumbent will respond to routine queries on facilities services, escalating as appropriate, and provide comprehensive meeting and event support including scheduling, preparing meeting rooms, arranging materials, taking minutes, and coordinating refreshments. A university degree in Business Administration, Office Management, Public Administration, or a related field is required; any prior work experience is an added advantage.
Strong organizational and time management skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, attention to detail, and excellent verbal and written communication are essential. Fluency in the UN language at the duty station and in the local language is required. The position is full time and based in Dar es Salaam.
