Administration and Procurement Officer

World Vision is seeking an experienced Administration and Procurement Officer to support operations at its Arusha office in Tanzania. With 75 years of experience, World Vision focuses on helping the most vulnerable children overcome poverty and experience fullness of life. Inspired by its Christian faith, the organisation operates in nearly 100 countries with 31,000 staff members.
The Officer will be responsible for three interconnected areas of work. Procurement duties comprise approximately 35 percent of the role and include coordinating supplier negotiations through the procurement committee, providing technical support to the tender committee and serving as its secretary, developing and issuing requests for proposals, completing purchase request processes within agreed timelines, managing supplier and staff relationships throughout procurement cycles, knowing and applying Value for Tomorrow rules and regulations for all purchases, developing annual procurement plans aligned with departmental needs, preparing reports and tracking tools for senior management, identifying and escalating fraud red flags, and leading market analyses to identify value for money on goods and services. Fleet management and occupational safety and health account for approximately 35 percent of responsibilities, encompassing vehicle fleet compliance, staff travel facilitation, GPS tracking, safety audits, first aider supervision, OSHA compliance coordination, and business licence management.
Communication and reporting duties, making up the remaining 30 percent, involve weekly requisition updates to senior management, annual supplier list maintenance, tender meeting organisation and minute preparation, and monthly procurement and disposal reporting. This is a full-time position under a local fixed-term contract based in Arusha, Tanzania. Applications close on 22 June 2026 and only local applicants are accepted.
