Public Health
Program Manager
About this role
KOICA, the Korea International Cooperation Agency, is recruiting a Program Manager for its Tanzania Country Office in Dar es Salaam. KOICA is an agency of the Republic of Korea that implements the Korean government's Official Development Assistance programme, and in Tanzania it supports education, health and rural development. The post-holder plans, manages, monitors and evaluates projects implemented by KOICA or by other international organisations. A substantial share of the work involves engaging in health policy forums and conducting policy analysis to inform KOICA's health programmes.
The manager liaises with key stakeholders, including Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies, development partners and other organisations collaborating with KOICA, and also supports other office responsibilities as required. The role therefore combines project cycle management with external representation and coordination. Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in health sciences, preferably in public health, and have at least five years of experience in development programmes with a solid grasp of the project management cycle. Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills are essential, as is extensive knowledge of the Tanzanian health sector, particularly Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health.
Fluency in English is required, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital tools such as Google Workspace. Experience with international organisations and familiarity with Government of Tanzania processes are additional advantages. The contract is full time and runs for one year, with the possibility of yearly extension under KOICA internal regulations, beginning with a three-month probationary period. The duty station is the KOICA Tanzania Country Office in Dar es Salaam.
The package includes a basic wage with related taxes and social security contributions, an annual incentive, a yearly medical checkup, severance pay, and a daily subsistence allowance for business travel. Applicants should send a KOICA-format curriculum vitae and a cover letter by email no later than 28 February, and incomplete applications will not be reviewed.
