About this role

World Vision is recruiting a Treasury Officer for VisionFund Tanzania (VFT), its microfinance arm, at the Head Office VF Office in Tanzania on a local, full-time fixed-term contract. The post holder manages daily cash positions, banking relationships, and bank mandates, prepares liquidity reports on central bank templates, places fixed deposits, supports branch-level cash availability and internal controls, and oversees internal fund transfers. Treasury duties include booking and settling foreign exchange and money market deals, negotiating competitive rates, monitoring maturity dates, and keeping accurate transaction records. The role also covers regulatory reporting to the central bank, monthly reconciliation of general ledger accounts, loan interest accruals, fixed deposits, securities, and interest income, and collaboration with finance and reconciliation teams to resolve discrepancies.

The officer will maintain lender relationships, track covenant compliance and loan repayment schedules, prepare monthly foreign debt reports, assist with grant compliance, support month-end and year-end closes, and help with audits, staff account opening, and staff loan processing. Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree in Finance, Banking, Economics, Accounting, or a related field, a finance and accounting background, knowledge of IFRS and financial statements, and an understanding of the microfinance industry and local regulatory requirements on foreign debt. Candidates need strong analytical and reporting skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software, experience with general ledger functions, and advanced Excel skills including VLOOKUP and pivot tables. A CPA or equivalent and good communication skills are preferred, as are accuracy, attention to detail, and numeric aptitude.

World Vision is a Christian organisation with 75 years of experience helping vulnerable children, operating in nearly 100 countries with around 31,000 staff.
