About this role
Farm Africa is seeking a Sustainable Supply Manager to lead the growth and delivery of its commercial advisory and sustainable supply chain portfolio across eastern Africa. This senior role combines business development with social and environmental impact, working with global buyers, traders, retailers, agribusinesses and impact investors to develop solutions that strengthen agricultural supply chains while improving opportunities for smallholder farmers. The post-holder will identify new business opportunities, develop commercial propositions, win contracts and manage delivery across several focus areas: sustainable coffee supply chains, sustainable horticulture supply chains, technical assistance services for impact investors and blended finance funds, and ESG, traceability and responsible sourcing solutions. Building long-term commercial partnerships with corporates, traders, retailers and investors will be a central responsibility.
Farm Africa is looking for candidates with a strong commercial mindset and a proven track record of winning business, generating revenue and building strategic partnerships. Essential experience includes working in agricultural, food, commodity or related supply chains, along with knowledge of ESG, sustainability, traceability, certification or responsible sourcing. The ideal candidate will bring strong commercial, negotiation and stakeholder management skills, experience engaging with senior decision-makers in corporate, investor or development finance environments, and deep knowledge of East African agricultural markets. An entrepreneurial approach and the ability to turn opportunities into measurable results are also critical.
With almost 40 years of experience partnering with farmers, businesses and market actors across eastern Africa, Farm Africa brings deep technical expertise and a strong regional reputation to its work. The organisation operates teams across Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and the United Kingdom.
