Supply Chain Coordinator

About this role

Plan International is recruiting a Supply Chain Coordinator to be based in Nkasi, Tanzania, as part of its Middle East, Eastern and Southern Africa operations. The purpose of the role is to handle day-to-day supply chain activities across the southern zone so that programme and project implementation is delivered efficiently, operationally and in line with Plan International and donor policies. The post holder will manage the programme area's procurement function, apply supply chain policies and procedures, and lead procurement planning and tracking. Responsibilities also include fleet management and coordination, ensuring suppliers are paid promptly for goods, works, consultancy and services, and maintaining the property and fixed asset register.

The coordinator oversees safety and security management and supervises drivers and an administrative assistant, reporting to the Program Implementation Area Manager at grade 13. Applicants need a bachelor's degree in logistics, procurement and supplies management, or supply chain management, along with at least four years of practical experience in a comparable role. A professional qualification and registration with the Procurement and Supplies Professionals and Technicians Board is required, as is demonstrated progressive experience in similar posts and a deeper understanding of donor grant procurement rules and guidelines. The advertised skills include planning and organising, procurement cycle management, fleet and asset management, negotiation, and working with SAP/ERP systems.
