Senior Technical Officer, PMTCT

FHI 360 is hiring a Senior Technical Officer for Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission in Dar es Salaam to provide technical leadership and strategic oversight for PMTCT, HIV-exposed infant and paediatric HIV care, and cervical cancer prevention across supported regions. The officer will ensure facilities deliver high-quality services aligned with Tanzanian national guidelines and global best practices. Day-to-day duties include guiding regional teams on triple elimination of HIV, syphilis and hepatitis B and on cervical cancer screening, treatment referral and follow-up; strengthening referral and linkage systems; monitoring key indicators; and leading mentorship, supportive supervision, on-the-job training and quality improvement. The role also involves collaborating with the Ministry of Health, regional and council health teams, implementing partners and communities, preparing technical reports, supporting work plans, and managing performance and corrective actions.

Candidates need a degree or advanced diploma in medicine, nursing or a related health field with professional registration, plus at least six years of progressive experience in PMTCT, paediatric HIV, maternal and child health, or HIV prevention, care and treatment, preferably in donor-funded programmes. Experience working with the Ministry of Health, council health teams and facilities is required, along with English and Kiswahili fluency and Microsoft Office proficiency. A master's degree in public health is an added advantage. FHI 360 is a global development organisation; this full-time post sits within its Tanzania programmes supporting eMTCT and cervical cancer elimination.

The role is based in Dar es Salaam, reports to the Senior Technical Advisor for Clinical Services, and requires 50 to 75 percent domestic travel to council and facility sites. FHI 360 offers a competitive benefits package with an expected annual basic salary between TZS 68,000,000 and TZS 90,000,000.
