Senior Regional Technical Officer, Supply Chain

FHI 360 is recruiting a Senior Regional Technical Officer, Supply Chain, to provide technical leadership that strengthens supply chain management, pharmaceutical services, and data use within Tanzania's regional health system, as part of the EpiC project's work on HIV and TB commodities. Based at the regional level, the post-holder serves as a technical bridge among the Medical Stores Department, the Central Medical Stores in Zanzibar, Regional and Council Health Management Teams, and implementing partners. The officer provides hands-on technical expertise on commodities management at regional and council level, supports bottom-up quantification and integration into national supply and procurement plans. The role monitors stock status across supported facilities, analyses inventory trends, and coordinates with stakeholders to prevent stock-outs, minimise expiries, and reduce overstocking.

The officer strengthens the use of eLMIS, DHIS2, GoTHOMIS and related tools for accurate and timely reporting, guides Medicines and Therapeutics Committees on rational use of medicines, and reinforces pharmacovigilance and adverse drug reaction reporting. Additional duties include mentoring pharmacists, laboratory technologists and health workers, validating supply chain data, and building capacity in line with Ministry of Health and PORALG strategies. Candidates must hold a degree in pharmacy, supply chain management, public health or a related field, with a master's degree preferred, and at least eight years of experience in life-saving commodities supply chain management, pharmaceutical management or health systems strengthening. Demonstrated expertise with eLMIS, the CTC2 database, pharmacy modules, DHIS2, bottom-up quantification and GoTHOMIS is required, alongside experience with USG-funded health programmes.

Preferred candidates will bring proven experience in technical assistance, capacity building, mentorship and supportive supervision. The full-time role reports to the Regional Manager and Senior Technical Advisor, Supply Chain, with 10 to 25 percent domestic travel to project sites.
