Senior Regional Technical Officer, Supply Chain
About this role
FHI 360 is recruiting a Senior Regional Technical Officer, Supply Chain, based in Dodoma, Tanzania, to lead regional strengthening of supply chain management, pharmaceutical services, and data use within the EpiC project. The position acts as a technical bridge linking the Medical Stores Department in Tanzania Mainland, the Central Medical Stores in Zanzibar, regional and council health management teams, logistics management services teams, health facilities, and regional implementing partners. The post-holder provides hands-on technical support on commodities management at regional, council, and facility level, leads bottom-up quantification and its integration into national supply and procurement plans, and monitors stock status to prevent stock-outs, minimise expiries, and reduce overstocks.
The officer strengthens use of eLMIS, DHIS2, GoTHOMIS and related platforms for accurate and timely reporting, guides medicines and therapeutics committees on rational use of medicines, antimicrobial resistance, and patient safety, and reinforces pharmacovigilance and adverse drug reaction follow-up. Considerable time goes to on-the-job mentorship, supportive supervision, data validation and analysis, and promoting dashboards and scorecards so that supply chain decisions are evidence-based. Candidates must hold a degree in pharmacy, supply chain management, public health, or a related field, with a master's degree preferred, and have at least eight years of experience in public life-saving commodities supply chain management, pharmaceutical management, or health systems strengthening.
Demonstrated expertise with e-LMIS, CTC2, DHIS2 pharmacy modules, bottom-up quantification, and GoTHOMIS is required, alongside experience with the Ministry of Health, USG-funded projects, and other donor-funded health programmes. The role reports to the Regional Manager and the Senior Technical Advisor, Supply Chain, mentors junior staff, and involves 10 to 25 percent domestic travel to council and health facility sites. It is a full-time position offering a competitive package with an annual basic salary range of TZS 68,000,000 to 90,000,000, and applications close on 23 October 2026.
