Senior Regional Technical Officer, Clinical Services
About this role
FHI 360 is seeking an experienced technical officer to lead clinical services under the EpiC project in Lindi, Tanzania. The Senior Regional Technical Officer will provide technical leadership, clinical guidance and oversight for comprehensive HIV and TB services across supported Police and Prisons (PnP) and public health facilities, working to strengthen quality, coverage, integration, and effectiveness across the HIV/TB continuum. Responsibilities include clinical mentorship and capacity strengthening of health care workers and project staff, coordination with regional and council health management teams, facility start-up support, staff training, continuous medical education, patient flow analysis, and adherence improvement. The officer will also support TB prevention, screening and management, pediatric and adolescent HIV care, NCD screening and management integration, and referral and linkage systems.
Using routine program and clinical data, the post holder will identify performance gaps, guide corrective actions, implement quality improvement strategies, and support monitoring, evaluation, documentation and reporting. This is a full-time role reporting operationally to the Regional Manager and technically to Central and Regional Clinical Coordinators, with 10 to 25 percent domestic travel. Required qualifications include a degree in Medicine or a related field with national registration, at least six years of experience in HIV/TB clinical services, and proven experience in program implementation, clinical mentorship, supportive supervision, and quality improvement. Experience with the Ministry of Health, R/CHMTs, health facilities, civil society organizations, and implementing partners is required, along with data analysis skills.
A Master of Public Health and experience in multi-stakeholder regional programmes are desirable. Fluency in English and Kiswahili is essential. FHI 360 offers a competitive package; the expected annual basic salary range is TZS 68,000,000 to TZS 90,000,000.
