Senior Regional Technical Officer, Community Engagement
About this role
FHI 360 is recruiting a Senior Regional Technical Officer for Community Engagement to be based in Shinyanga, Tanzania. The officer provides regional strategic technical leadership and oversight for community HIV prevention, linkage, care, treatment, and continuity of care services for adults, adolescents, and children across facilities and communities. The post-holder ensures implementation complies with national guidelines, project SOPs, regional workplans, and quality standards, and works with regional and district government teams, health facilities, communities, and other stakeholders to strengthen coordination, referrals, and case management. The role includes designing and refining regional strategies to improve ART retention and treatment outcomes; developing and adapting community engagement tools, SOPs, and guidelines; leading demand generation and communication activities; and using program data to identify gaps and implement corrective actions.
It also involves mentoring and supervising community health workers and providers, strengthening referral systems and client tracing, representing the project at technical forums and government meetings, and preparing technical reports and knowledge products. Applicants need a Master's degree or equivalent in social science, international development, health, or a related field and six years of progressive experience in community-based health programming, including HIV prevention, care, and treatment. Experience with NGOs, civil society, community health workers, or government partners is required, along with English and Swahili fluency, strong analytical skills, and Microsoft Office proficiency. Project management certification is preferred.
The role requires travel 50 to 75 percent domestically. This full-time role reports to the Regional Program Manager in Shinyanga and combines office-based work with extensive domestic travel. FHI 360 offers a competitive package and an annual basic salary from TZS 68,000,000 to 90,000,000, depending on experience and budget.
