The Trade and Development Bank Group (TDB Group) is an African regional multilateral development bank established in 1985, with a mandate to finance and foster trade, regional economic integration, and sustainable development across the continent. TDB Group operates through several subsidiaries and strategic business units including Trade and Development Banking, TDB Asset Management, the Trade and Development Fund, TDB Captive Insurance Company, the ESATAL fund management company, and TDB Academy. The Bank is seeking to recruit a Senior Project and Infrastructure Finance Officer to join its operations in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, covering North-East Africa.
The Senior Project and Infrastructure Finance Officer is responsible for identifying, appraising, structuring, negotiating, and monitoring the Bank's Project and Infrastructure Finance investments across debt, mezzanine, equity, and other financial instruments in accordance with approved operational guidelines and business strategy. Core responsibilities include driving business development by sourcing and assessing new investment opportunities to meet departmental targets, and structuring complex investments based on assessments of client and country risk. The role requires leading transaction teams through origination, due diligence, internal approvals, and processing, directing and coordinating work across multiple departments.
Key duties encompass initial screening of funding opportunities, conducting Know Your Customer checks, analysing financials and development impact, preparing evaluation memos and indicative term sheets, negotiating terms with clients, and undertaking on-site due diligence missions to appraise the commercial and financial viability of projects. The officer will prepare and present credit papers to the operations technical committee and credit committee, negotiate transaction and security documents including facility agreements and guarantee deeds, and liaise with internal departments to ensure timely disbursements and fulfilment of conditions subsequent. Candidates must hold a Master's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Banking, Finance, or Economics, with relevant professional qualifications as an added advantage.
