About this role

Cuso International is seeking a Resource Mobilization and Fundraising Advisor to volunteer with the Tanzania Health Forum Initiative (THFI) in Dar es Salaam. This six-month placement, part of the Renewed Women's Voice and Leadership (RWVL-T) project, aims to strengthen THFI's capacity to secure essential funding and build strategic partnerships for health programming in Tanzania. The advisor will work closely with the THFI team to enhance their resource mobilization efforts and improve the organization's visibility among diverse funding sources. In this role, the advisor will conduct mapping and analysis of funding opportunities and potential donors to maintain an up-to-date funding database that supports strategic decision-making.

They will provide hands-on support in proposal development, improving the quality and competitiveness of concept notes and funding applications to increase submission rates for relevant calls. The role involves strengthening resource mobilization systems to ensure more coordinated, efficient, and timely grant application processes, enhancing internal preparedness. The advisor will also offer partnership engagement support to bolster relationships with potential donors and strategic partners, improving communication materials for external engagement. Additionally, they will assist with documentation and knowledge management, creating a centralized repository of resource mobilization documents for institutional memory and advocacy purposes.

Essential qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in development studies, sociology, project management, entrepreneurship and business development, agribusiness, or value addition, with a Master's degree considered an asset. Candidates must have a minimum of four years of experience in fundraising projects, particularly in women's and youth empowerment initiatives, along with strong skills in grant and proposal writing, financial literacy, networking, and project management. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required. Familiarity with media relations and communication is also an asset.
