Quality and Safety Officer

About this role

CCBRT, a Tanzanian healthcare social enterprise and provider of specialised health services, is recruiting a Quality and Safety Officer to join its hospital in Dar es Salaam as part of service expansion and strengthening of its existing team. The post holder will support the Quality Assurance department, monitor progress against the Quality Improvement Plan, and lead nursing and midwifery audits across the hospital. Responsibilities include defining the Quality Management System and incorporating it into the HMIS; leading 5S, KAIZEN, Total Quality Management and Lean awareness sessions; conducting internal audits and following up on results; writing quality reports; supporting the hospital's complaint management process; and helping with scientific problem solving. The officer will assess compliance with agreed quality standards, build capacity where gaps are identified, support improvements to processes, procedures and guidelines, and plan yearly quality-related training.

The role also involves collecting client feedback and producing weekly, monthly and quarterly reports, reviewing standard operating procedures, coordinating Infection Prevention and Control assessments, and performing nursing and clinical audits. Candidates must hold a degree in a health-related discipline. No separate list of desirable qualifications or years of experience is included in the posting. It focuses on preventing lifelong disabilities wherever possible and runs maternal and newborn health activities, including obstetric fistula repairs, with a Maternity and Newborn Wing that receives high-risk and emergency referrals from Dar es Salaam and Tanzania's Eastern Zone.
