Technical Director, Faith and Community Initiative

World Vision

About this role

World Vision is recruiting a Technical Director for its Faith and Community Initiative (FCI) in Tanzania, a senior position based in Dar es Salaam with a local fixed-term contract. The role, contingent upon award and donor approval, is responsible for providing overall technical direction for FCI Tanzania in close coordination with the Chief of Party and the Global FCI Technical Director, translating global technical strategies, standards, tools and protocols into a national implementation framework aligned with Tanzanian policies. The post holder will lead technical planning and implementation of integrated HIV, TB, malaria, maternal and child health and nutrition services delivered through government facilities and faith-based health networks; strengthen referral systems and continuity of care; engage the Ministry of Health, PO-RALG, regional and council health teams; oversee technical performance reviews and adaptive management; build capacity of staff and partners; and manage the in-country technical team.

Candidates need a master's degree in public health, medicine, epidemiology, health systems management, global health, nursing, community health or a related field, with at least eight to ten years of progressively responsible experience in integrated health programming in Tanzania or a comparable context. Demonstrated experience with community-facility linkages, referral and counter-referral systems, and supportive supervision is required, as is fluency in English and Kiswahili. Strong experience in HIV/TB and health systems strengthening is preferred, along with familiarity with USG/GHSD/PEPFAR or Global Fund programmes, a recognised clinical qualification, and work with Christian health associations or faith-based networks.

World Vision is a Christian humanitarian organization with about 31,000 staff in nearly 100 countries, and the FCI portfolio focuses on integrating government and faith-based health systems through a hub-and-spoke model. The position is full-time, comes with a local fixed-term employee contract, and only local applicants will be accepted. Applications should be submitted through the World Vision careers portal by 2026-09-09.
