Project Coordinator

About this role

World Vision Tanzania is seeking a Project Coordinator to manage donor-funded development programmes within an assigned Area Program in the Babati district. The role operates within the PAISHA Project, which is implemented in the Lake Eyasi-Karatu area of Arusha Region and aims to improve the wellbeing of vulnerable children and communities through holistic programming. The Project Coordinator bears responsibility for high-quality project implementation and reporting, tracking targets against the Project Design Document and Logframe, and ensuring timely submission of progress reports to the Project Manager and relevant stakeholders. The post holder collaborates innovatively with government local government authorities, partners, and allies to influence policy and multiply programme impact.

Project planning and implementation account for approximately 30 percent of the role, with a further 25 percent devoted to budget and resource management including participation in annual and multi-year budget preparation, monitoring of monthly burn rates, and ensuring compliance with World Vision and donor financial policies. Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning activities constitute 20 percent of the workload and include baseline data collection, programme performance tracking, preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual reports, and facilitation of reflective learning forums with government and community stakeholders. The post holder provides supervision and technical guidance to a team of project officers and interns, promotes a culture of integrity and accountability, and manages networking, visibility and donor recognition activities representing the project at national, regional and local forums. Candidates must hold a university degree in Rural Development, Community Development, Agricultural Economics, Agriculture, Natural Resource Management or a related field, with a minimum of five years of experience coordinating donor-funded projects.

Experience with international NGOs and Korean-funded projects is an added advantage, and familiarity with holistic programming approaches including GEDSI, Natural Resource Management, Market Led approaches and Livelihood and Resilience programming is required. The contract is a full-time Local Fixed Term Employee position based at field level with frequent travel to programme sites.
