About this role

WFP Tanzania, part of the United Nations World Food Programme, is recruiting a Programme Policy Officer (Partnerships) to join its Management unit in Dar es Salaam. This four-month Special Service Agreement (SSA) at Level 8 reports to the Deputy Country Director and works with the Country Head of Programme and Activity Managers. The officer will join the Partnership sub-unit, which manages agreements with partners including NGOs, UN agencies, academia, government, and the private sector. Responsibilities include managing Field Level Agreements, Memorandums of Understanding, and Letters of Understanding; ensuring due diligence; coordinating calls for proposals through the UN Partners Portal (UNPP); supporting selection, awarding, signing, registration, implementation, and evaluation of partners; and maintaining a tracking sheet.

The post holder will also train staff and partners on UNPP and FLA processes, act as secretary to the Cooperating Partners Committee and the CP Technical Evaluation Committee, respond to partner queries, and ensure timely progress reports and invoices. They will join compliance spot checks, manage budget revisions, extensions, and amendments, and provide inputs for management briefings and the Annual Country Report. Candidates should have a university degree in Business Administration, Partnership, Project Management, Economics, or a related field, plus four to six years' relevant experience. Strong organisational and planning skills, proven partner experience, and fluency in English and Swahili are required.

Additional training in project management, statistical analysis, or operational planning is desirable.
