Procurement & Logistics Assistant

IOM

About this role

Established in 1951, IOM is a Related Organization of the United Nations and the leading UN agency in the field of migration. Working closely with governmental, intergovernmental, and non-governmental partners, IOM promotes humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. It saves lives and protects people on the move, drives solutions to displacement, and facilitates pathways for regular migration, while providing services and advice to governments and migrants. IOM is committed to fostering a respectful, inclusive and supportive workplace where all employees can thrive professionally and feel valued.

By creating such an environment, IOM aims to better harness the full potential of migration and strengthen its support to people on the move. Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission and the direct supervision of the Resource Management Officer, the Procurement and Logistics Assistant will provide operational support to the mission's procurement and logistics functions. Core responsibilities include assisting with the end-to-end procurement process, from preparing requisitions and soliciting supplier quotes to supporting the preparation of purchase orders and contracts. The incumbent will coordinate logistics for procurement cycles, liaise with vendors and internal stakeholders, and track deliveries and shipments to ensure timely acquisition of goods and services.

Additional duties involve maintaining accurate records of procurement activities, managing inventory and stock control where required, and contributing to the proper filing and archiving of procurement documentation in line with IOM procedures and donor requirements. The role also entails providing general administrative support to the Resource Management team as needed. IOM invites candidates from diverse backgrounds to apply and provides reasonable accommodation throughout the recruitment process when required. Candidates must hold a university degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related discipline.

A minimum of two years of professional experience in procurement, logistics, or supply chain operations is required.
