About this role

SOS Children's Villages, through its National Association in Tanzania and Zanzibar, is recruiting a Procurement and Logistics Officer in Zanzibar. Reporting to the Human Resources and Administration Coordinator, this full-time role ensures efficient, transparent, and cost-effective procurement and logistics so goods, services, and operational support are available on time for program implementation. The position supports organizational accountability, value for money, and compliance with policies and donor requirements, strengthening supply chains for quality programs serving children, young people, and families. The officer will strengthen procurement systems, promote transparency and fairness, and build a pre-qualified supplier network with framework agreements.

Responsibilities include developing logistics systems and standard operating procedures for timely delivery, coordinating logistics across program, finance, and support functions, managing fleet operations, and enforcing anti-fraud and conflict-of-interest policies. The post-holder will maintain accurate documentation for audits and donor reporting, monitor supplier and contractor performance, conduct market assessments and price surveys, provide procurement planning guidance aligned with budgets, train staff on procedures and compliance, develop contingency and risk management strategies, and supply data-driven insights on procurement trends. Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in procurement and supplies, material management, logistics, or supply chain management, with three to four years of progressively responsible procurement and logistics experience. Required competences include knowledge of logistics and transport management, proficiency with computerized integrated financial management and human resource systems, strong knowledge of procurement procedures and compliance frameworks, negotiation and vendor management skills, analytical and problem-solving abilities, and financial and budgeting skills for procurement planning.

Strong planning, organizational, and teamwork skills are also necessary. This is a limited full-time contract based in Zanzibar. Interested candidates should apply online through the organization's careers portal.
