About this role

The Benjamin William Mkapa Foundation is seeking two Monitoring and Evaluation Officers to support the design and implementation of Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, and Learning systems across health workforce, Nurturing Care for Early Childhood Development, and Maternal, Newborn and Child Health programs. The officers will ensure the collection, analysis, quality assurance, and reporting of high-quality program data to monitor performance, inform decision-making, support adaptive management, and demonstrate results. Core responsibilities include supporting the development and implementation of M&E frameworks, indicators, and digital data collection and visualization platforms; coordinating routine data collection, verification, and analysis across project sites and partners; maintaining program databases, dashboards, and performance tracking tools; conducting data quality assessments; and preparing regular program performance reports for both internal and external stakeholders. The officers will also track progress against program targets, support baseline, midline, and endline evaluations, and ensure compliance with approved research protocols and safeguarding standards.

Documenting lessons learned, contributing to technical briefs, and facilitating learning events to promote evidence-based decision-making are additional duties. Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Statistics, Monitoring and Evaluation, Economics, Demography, Social Sciences, Computer Science, or a related field with a Master's degree as an added advantage, along with a minimum of five years of experience in M&E within Early Childhood Development, MNCH, health workforce, or health development programs. Proficiency in Excel and digital data collection platforms such as KoboToolbox or ODK is required, while experience with DHIS2, Power BI, SPSS, or STATA is preferred. Candidates must demonstrate strong analytical, data visualization, reporting, communication, and problem-solving skills alongside a commitment to data quality, safeguarding, accountability, and ethical standards.

The positions are full-time and based in Dar es Salaam and Mwanza, Tanzania, reporting to the Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning Manager. Applications close on 21 July 2026.
