The Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) is seeking a Landscape Monitoring and Evaluation Manager to join its Greater Ruaha-Katavi Landscape Programme in Tanzania. The successful candidate will serve as a senior member of the programme team, responsible for establishing monitoring and evaluation baselines for all new project interventions within the Greater Ruaha-Katavi landscape. The role involves designing and developing data collection tools such as checklists, forms, and questionnaires, and providing technical guidance on the overall M&E framework in line with the programme M&E plan. The manager will conduct regular visits to programme field sites for data quality assurance and to document lessons learned.

Supporting the development and revision of landscape programme and individual programme annual workplans in coordination with technical staff is a core function of the role. The incumbent will monitor and document progress against project workplans, undertake periodic reviews of the monitoring system to address challenges on-site, and coordinate the timely submission of monitoring plans for review and approval. Consolidation of landscape programme reports and provision of feedback to programme materials also fall within the scope of duties. Candidates should possess a relevant academic qualification and a minimum of several years of professional experience in monitoring and evaluation within conservation, environmental, or development programming.

Essential competencies include proficiency in designing data collection tools, developing monitoring and evaluation plans, and coordinating with diverse stakeholders to ensure timely reporting.
