Day to day, the officer conducts ex-ante impact and additionality assessments of proposed transactions, articulating a development impact thesis and weighing expected outcomes across employment, SME and household benefits, government revenues, infrastructure and energy access, trade and regional integration, private sector development, gender inclusion and climate effects. The role assigns impact and additionality ratings, prepares impact notes for screening, underwriting committee and Board papers, and sets project baselines, indicators and targets at entry.
It also maintains the development results indicator system, coordinates data collection from policyholders and insured lenders, applies data-quality controls and tracks performance against targets. Additional duties include supporting self-evaluations of mature transactions, preparing portfolio-level impact reporting, contributing climate disclosure content under IFRS S1 and S2 and refining the IAF methodology. Candidates must hold a master's degree in economics, development economics, finance, public policy, statistics or a closely related field, plus at least five years of relevant experience in sustainability, monitoring and evaluation, impact assessment or ESG. Familiarity with IRIS+, GRI, the SDGs, IFRS S1/S2 and the Operating Principles for Impact Management is expected, along with strong analytical skills, proficiency in Excel and a statistical tool such as Stata, R, Python or Power BI, and fluency in English and French.
Prior work with a multilateral development bank, development finance institution, export credit agency or political risk insurer is strongly preferred. This is a full-time position based at ATIDI's offices in the Kenya Re Towers, Upperhill, Nairobi. Applications close on 13 November 2026.
