The Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) Tanzania seeks an HR Coordinator to support the Greater Ruaha-Katavi Landscape Programme (GRKLP). This role manages day-to-day human resources operations and personnel administration across multiple sections within the programme, ensuring effective talent acquisition, compliance with Tanzanian labour laws, and the promotion of a safe and inclusive workplace. The HR Coordinator oversees the full employment lifecycle, including onboarding support, contract issuance and renewal, leave management, employee relations, performance management, and staff welfare across all programme field sites. Key responsibilities include facilitating the performance management framework by assisting supervisors with planning, monitoring, and objective evaluation of staff performance, while providing coaching on performance improvement and career development.

The role requires maintaining accurate and confidential personnel records both digitally and in physical format, monitoring leave entitlements including annual, sick, and maternity or paternity leave, and acting as a liaison between employees and management for HR-related queries. The HR Coordinator also coordinates with Finance and Payroll teams to ensure accurate submission of payroll inputs, timesheets, and statutory deductions, conducts exit interviews, and addresses grievance procedures in line with organisational policy. Ensuring that all employment contracts comply with Tanzanian labour laws and are registered with relevant authorities is a core function of this position, alongside overseeing adherence to WCS and host country HR policies and providing advice on disciplinary procedures and conflict resolution. The position is full-time, based in Mbeya, Tanzania, with no direct reports.
