About this role

The Alliance of Bioversity International & CIAT is seeking a Senior Analyst, Program Administration to support the Tatu portfolio at its Arusha, Tanzania office. The Alliance, part of CGIAR and a global research partnership dedicated to food-secure futures, delivers research-based solutions that harness agricultural biodiversity to address malnutrition, climate change, and environmental degradation across Sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America, and Asia. The Senior Analyst will provide advanced administrative, financial coordination, and operational oversight support to enhance the efficiency, compliance, and effectiveness of program operations. Core responsibilities include coordinating budget monitoring, forecasting, procurement, HR processes, travel management, and cross-functional administrative workflows across project teams and Alliance support units including PLANS, GMU, HR, Finance, and procurement.

The role serves as a key coordination point between project teams and operational functions, overseeing integrated administrative services, monitoring budget utilisation trends, maintaining accurate operational data, and providing timely financial insights for evidence-based decision-making. Required qualifications include a Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Project Management, Public Administration, International Development, Operations Management, or a relevant field, along with extensive experience in process-oriented administrative and financial coordination work. Candidates must demonstrate strong proficiency in budget monitoring, forecasting, expenditure analysis, procurement coordination, travel and logistics management, and operational risk assessment, as well as fluency in both English and Swahili languages. The position is nationally recruited and based in Arusha, Tanzania, with an initial one-year contract subject to a three-month probation period, renewable based on performance and resource availability.

The role is graded at BG07 level with a minimum basic salary of TZS 3,929,704 per month within a BG01 to BG14 scale, complemented by competitive benefits including insurance, retirement plans, staff development opportunities, paid time off, and flexible working arrangements.
