About this role

Comprehensive Community Based Rehabilitation in Tanzania (CCBRT) is Tanzania's largest local provider of disability and rehabilitation services, operating as a healthcare social enterprise through development programmes that serve the community and the most vulnerable. The organisation also runs extensive maternal and newborn healthcare activities, including obstetric fistula repairs, with its Maternity and Newborn Wing serving as a referral centre for high-risk and emergency deliveries across Dar es Salaam and the Eastern Zone of Tanzania. CCBRT is seeking a dynamic Head of Procurement and Supply Chain to manage and direct the purchasing of all goods and services across the organisation. The post-holder will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer and provide strategic leadership and oversight of the procurement department to build transparent, standardised, ethical and safe practices that deliver value for money.

Core responsibilities include reviewing and revising current procurement arrangements, creating and maintaining key performance indicators, developing new policies and practices, training staff to strengthen organisational capacity, and bringing best practice and industry standards to CCBRT. The successful candidate will drive value for money, operational efficiency and effectiveness across procurement and supply chain functions, including warehouse and inventory management. They will ensure optimal stock availability and inventory control, strengthen warehouse operations, and oversee the safe, efficient and accountable storage and distribution of goods. The post-holder will establish and monitor robust policies, procedures, key performance indicators and internal controls to enhance procurement, warehousing and supply chain performance while ensuring compliance with organisational and donor requirements.

The role requires a degree in Procurement, registration with the Procurement and Supplies Professionals and Technician Board, and authorisation as a supplies officer or stock verifier, along with a minimum of eight years of procurement leadership experience. Health and NGO sector experience is an added advantage. This full-time position is based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, and candidates should apply by July 31, 2026 via the recruitment email.
