Educate!

About this role

Educate! is a leading youth employment and skills organisation operating across East Africa, having meaningfully impacted more than 500,000 young people in Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya, and Tanzania through employment-focused secondary school subjects and livelihood boot camps for out-of-school youth, with a particular focus on marginalised rural girls and young women. The organisation has grown into the largest youth employment provider in East Africa and is backed by major global foundations including Imaginable Futures, Livelihood Impact Fund, Jack Dorseys #startsmall, CIFF, Echidna Giving, and a 2022 catalytic investment from philanthropist Mackenzie Scott. This posting serves as an open talent community invitation for prospective candidates who do not see a specific advertised role that matches their profile but believe their skills and experience could contribute to the mission.

Educate! recruits across a wide range of functional areas including People and Culture, Program Delivery, Operations, Finance, Performance Metrics and Evaluation, Admin and Procurement, Product Development, Fundraising and External Relations, Policy and Partnerships, Research Measurement and Evaluation, Learning Experience Design, Field Operations, Marketing and Communications, and Technology and AI. The organisation is a team of over 300 largely African staff and 300 volunteer youth mentors, with a strong track record of internal promotion and fellowship alumni. Working at Educate!

involves contributing above and beyond a standard job description, growing skills continuously, and advancing a career in a fast-scaling, impact-obsessed environment guided by five cultural tenets: Youth First and Impact-Obsessed, Exceeding Expectations, Always Learning, One Team Many Views, and the Startup Mindset. The organisation is committed to diversity, inclusion, and welcomes applicants from all backgrounds, particularly women and individuals from under-represented groups. All candidates are screened for child and youth safety. Interested individuals are encouraged to submit their story, motivations, and experience through the organisations talent community portal, where their profiles will be considered when suitable opportunities arise.
