About this role

Plan International is seeking a Project Coordinator to lead an economic empowerment project in Tarime, Tanzania, focused on improving skills, economic opportunities and resilience of women, youth and smallholders engaged in the coffee value chain. This three-year initiative builds on the success of a previous programme and sits within Plan International's broader work advancing children's rights and equality for girls, though the immediate focus is on adult beneficiaries in the agricultural sector. The Project Coordinator will oversee all aspects of implementation including quality assurance, donor reporting, monitoring and evaluation, and communications in line with the project proposal and agreement. S/he will develop and maintain productive relationships with local government authorities, development partners and private sector actors, while effectively managing project resources and ensuring timely utilisation of funds.

The role requires representation at district, regional and national forums related to coffee production and marketing. The position demands a bachelor's degree in agribusiness, agriculture economics, agriculture, entrepreneurship, business administration, commerce or economics, combined with a minimum of five years professional experience in agriculture programmes and youth employment initiatives, including at least three years in a leadership role. Strong command of Kiswahili and English, proven experience managing multiple subcontractors and partners, and deep knowledge of youth employment challenges in Tanzania are essential. Experience with saving group operations and private sector engagement at micro and corporate levels is an asset.

The role is based in Tarime, Mara region, on a full-time contract, Grade 13, reporting to the Program Implementation Area Manager. Applications close on 5th July, 2026.
