Enumerator, INUA II Project Data Collection

Hand in Hand Eastern Africa Tanzania (HIHEA TZ) is seeking qualified and experienced Enumerators to support data collection for the INUA II Project across Singida, Manyara, and Iringa Regions. The enumerators will work under the direct supervision of the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Team, collecting accurate, complete, and reliable data in accordance with established data collection protocols, ethical standards, and quality assurance procedures. They will attend all training and briefing sessions, understand the evaluation methodology and data collection tools, and conduct structured interviews with project participants using approved quantitative tools and digital devices. Enumerators will introduce themselves professionally to respondents, explain the purpose of the assessment, and obtain informed consent before commencing any interviews.

They are expected to ensure all responses are accurately recorded, safeguard collected information against unauthorized access, and coordinate daily progress updates with field supervisors while promptly communicating any challenges. Enumerators must visit all assigned respondents, follow prescribed replacement or follow-up procedures when respondents are unavailable, and submit completed interviews and synchronize data according to agreed timelines. Candidates should hold a Diploma or Degree in Statistics, Economics, Agriculture, Development Economics, Project Management, Business Administration, Sociology, Community Development, or a closely related discipline, with a Master's degree considered an advantage. A minimum of two years' experience in collecting both quantitative and qualitative data is required, along with in-depth skills in understanding community dynamics, experience using tablets for data collection, and strong interviewing and probing skills with attention to detail.

Proficiency in Kobo Collect or ODK is essential. Fluency in written and spoken Swahili and English is mandatory, and knowledge of local languages in the respective regions is an added advantage. HIHEA TZ is an NGO registered in Tanzania since 2016 and part of the Hand in Hand Global Network, operating seven branches across the country with a mandate to empower communities, particularly women, through sustainable enterprise creation.
