SOS Children's Villages Tanzania is recruiting two drivers to meet the transportation needs of the SOS Children's Village Mwanza program. The post-holder will be based in Mwanza, Tanzania, reporting to the Logistics and Administration Officer under a limited full-time contract. The driver is expected to serve as a positive role model for village children and to uphold the reputation of the organisation while carrying passengers, including children and staff, entrusted to their care. Core responsibilities include providing safe and reliable driving services for staff, visitors, and authorised personnel; driving responsibly to protect passengers, vehicles, and organisational property; keeping accurate trip records in vehicle logbooks; maintaining assigned vehicles in good working condition; reporting mechanical defects or performance issues promptly; ensuring vehicles are serviced according to the official schedule; and dispatching and collecting official documents to and from offices, partners, stakeholders, and other designated locations as required.
Additional duties may be assigned by the supervisor. Required qualifications include a Certificate of Secondary Education and a certificate from VETA, the National Institute of Transport, or another recognised institution; a VIP driving certificate; a valid driving licence held at all times; and at least two years of working experience, preferably with NGOs. The post requires basic knowledge of child rights and child protection, the ability to work with minimum supervision, strong interpersonal and team skills, and fluency in both English and Swahili. SOS Children's Villages is an international child welfare organisation, and the National Association Tanzania and Zanzibar operates this role within its Mwanza programme, where responsibilities include administrative and logistics support for care and family strengthening activities.
