Credit Analyst

About this role

VFT-MFB, World Vision Tanzania's microfinance banking subsidiary, seeks a Credit Analyst to identify, monitor, and report credit risk across the organisation's lending portfolio. The role is based at the Arusha VF Office and is central to the bank's efforts to safeguard asset quality and reduce financial loss across its branches and loan products. The post holder will be responsible for preparing monthly and quarterly credit reports broken down by branch, product, and loan cycle, and for continuously reviewing emerging risks associated with new products and projects. A further key duty involves compiling and processing mortgage documentation in coordination with the loan approval workflow, ensuring all recommended documentation is in order before disbursement.

The Credit Analyst will also support the enhancement of VFT-MFB's credit risk appetite framework, communicate risk management findings to relevant internal stakeholders, and assess whether more thorough investigation is warranted for poorly performing products. Additional responsibilities include preparing Board of Trustees and Credit Reference Bureau reports, acting as the primary contact for credit reporting matters with the Bank of Tanzania and Credit Info, and contributing to the bank's compliance posture and public reputation. Candidates must hold at minimum a Master's or postgraduate degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Risk Management, with a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Law, Accounting, or Risk Management also considered. Fluency in written and spoken English and strong analytical and reporting skills are required, and five years of experience in credit management is an added advantage.
