About this role
Jhpiego is hiring an Administrator in Dar es Salaam to provide day-to-day administrative, logistics, and operational support to one of its projects in Tanzania. The post-holder connects field teams with technical, operational, and logistics functions, keeping teams organized so activities can run efficiently. Responsibilities include coordinating travel arrangements, approvals, itineraries, and meeting logistics; supporting planning for trainings, supervision visits, outreach, and meetings; preparing requisitions; and tracking procurement requests with procurement and finance units. The Administrator also supports asset, stores, and inventory management, periodic counts and reconciliation, and fleet operations including vehicle scheduling, logbooks, fuel tracking, and maintenance coordination.
Additional duties span maintaining organized electronic and physical filing systems, preparing routine administrative reports, and supporting compliance with Jhpiego policies, Department of State regulations, and internal procedures, flagging challenges to the Senior Program Officer. Candidates should hold a diploma or degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Logistics, Operations Management, or a related field, with a degree preferred, plus at least four to five years of experience supporting donor-funded programs. Experience with procurement, logistics coordination, office operations, field teams, fleet management, asset tracking, and inventory systems is required, along with proficiency in MS Office and electronic filing systems. Familiarity with U.S.
Government-funded project compliance and experience with logistics or inventory platforms such as eLMIS are advantages. High attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple tasks, and fluency in English and Kiswahili are required, as is willingness to travel regularly within the assigned region.
