Administrator, ASCEND Project

Jhpiego

About this role

Jhpiego is hiring an Administrator for the ASCEND Project in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The Administrator will provide day-to-day field-level administrative, logistics, and operational support so that regional field teams are well organized, resourced, and able to implement activities efficiently. As a key connector between field teams, technical staff, and operational functions, the Administrator helps maintain structured systems, timely processes, and well-documented records that support effective implementation. Core responsibilities cover administrative and team support, travel arrangements, approvals, itineraries, meeting logistics, correspondence, and record management.

The role also coordinates logistics for trainings, supervision visits, outreach activities, and meetings; prepares procurement requisitions and follows up with procurement and finance units; manages project assets, stores, and inventories; supports fleet operations such as vehicle scheduling, logbooks, fuel tracking, and maintenance; and maintains electronic and physical filing systems, including SharePoint. The Administrator prepares routine administrative and logistics reports and supports compliance with Jhpiego policies, Department of State regulations, and internal procedures. Candidates should hold a diploma or degree in public administration, business administration, logistics, operations management, or a related field, with a degree preferred, and have at least four to five years of experience providing administrative, logistics, or operational support to donor-funded programs. Experience with procurement, office operations, field-based teams, fleet management, asset tracking, and inventory systems is required.

Proficiency in MS Office and electronic filing systems is also needed, and familiarity with U.S. Government-funded compliance requirements or systems such as eLMIS is an advantage. High attention to detail and multitasking ability are preferred, while fluency in English and Kiswahili is required, along with willingness to travel regularly within the assigned region. Jhpiego, a Johns Hopkins University affiliate, offers competitive salaries and a comprehensive benefits package.

Interested applicants should submit a single document containing a cover letter, resume, and references via the Jhpiego careers portal at www.jhpiego.org/careers by September 11, 2026.
