E-mobility Specialist
About this role
The E-Mobility Specialist supports the effective implementation of Mercy Corps' EVOLVE programme by contributing to the design and delivery of technical assistance strategy and sequencing. The role sits within Mercy Corps Tanzania and focuses on the e-mobility ecosystem, working primarily with micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) that operate in or are transitioning to electric mobility solutions. Core responsibilities include leading MSME pipeline development for both incubation and acceleration tracks, conducting selection, screening, diagnostics, due diligence, and establishing KPIs and milestones for enterprise beneficiaries. The Specialist delivers tailored technical assistance to acceleration track MSMEs to achieve commercial and investment readiness, provides technical oversight and quality assurance for expert consultants, and monitors performance against set milestones.
The role also involves supporting the design of MSME subsidy funds, verifying eligibility, monitoring recipient performance, and developing guides, toolkits, and templates for e-mobility enterprises. Collaboration with the Programme Manager and NMB Foundation is essential, as is budget input for incubation and acceleration activities and close work with the Country Finance team for cash projections. The Specialist conducts market analysis, conducts monitoring visits to programme participants, prepares regular progress reports including weekly verbal updates, monthly progress checks, and quarterly written reports, and contributes programme learning and case studies. Mercy Corps is a global non-governmental organisation that works in fragile and conflict-affected environments across over 40 countries.
The EVOLVE programme in Tanzania focuses on building the e-mobility ecosystem through enterprise development and private sector engagement. The position is based in Dar es Salaam on a full-time contract. Applications close on 21 January 2027.
