Senior Business Analyst

D-tree International

About this role

D-tree International is recruiting a Senior Business Analyst for its Tanzania Mainland office in the Victoria Area of Dar es Salaam. The full-time position reports to the Senior Technical Advisor and should start as soon as possible. The post-holder bridges D-tree's program teams, digital health users and software developers, ensuring digital solutions respond to genuine health system needs and remain practical and user-friendly. Roughly 60 percent of the workload covers business analysis: leading system design, development, testing, training and implementation; identifying and managing stakeholders, including system users; and mapping and validating business processes through focus group discussions, interviews and field visits.

The analyst applies human-centered design to document software requirement specifications, solution architecture, user and administrative manuals and technical reports, and coordinates with developers by clarifying requirements and mediating between stakeholders and the development team. The role also leads user acceptance testing, performance and stress testing, capacity building sessions and user training. A further 10 percent covers quality assurance, including test cases, requirement traceability matrices and adherence to Ministry guidelines and the Tanzania Health Enterprise Architecture. The remaining 30 percent supports program implementation and communication, spanning donor progress reports, work planning, budget preparation, stakeholder coordination and representation at public forums and conferences.

Candidates need at least a bachelor's degree in information systems, software engineering, computer science or a related field, plus five or more years in business analysis, digital health, health information systems or software implementation. Strong knowledge of systems development life cycle methodologies is mandatory, alongside experience with cross-functional teams and software testing. Agile and SCRUM familiarity, BPMN, draw.io and Figma skills, and an understanding of public health programs are listed as advantages. The annual salary range is TSh 72,516,600 to TSh 94,271,580, with starting pay expected toward the lower end.

Applications are submitted through D-tree's recruitment link by 1 November 2026.
