Volunteer Training, 15MILLION Initiative Farmers Tanzania

AFRICA CHILD FOUNDATION MISSION OF TANZANIA

About this role

The Africa Child Foundation Mission of Tanzania (ACFMT) is seeking volunteers for its structured training and field assignment programme focused on the 15MILLION Initiative Farmers Tanzania, an environmental and community empowerment initiative that supports farmers and vulnerable communities through sustainable agriculture, climate action, mangrove restoration, and ecosystem conservation. The programme combines classroom learning, practical field experience, group discussions, case studies, and community engagement activities. Volunteers will receive comprehensive training on ACFMT's mission, vision, organisational values, child safeguarding standards, and humanitarian principles, as well as practical instruction in mangrove restoration across coastal areas, wetlands, riverbanks, and lowland ecosystems; tree planting and biodiversity conservation; climate change adaptation; and sustainable agriculture.

Participants will also complete modules in child protection, school feeding and nutrition, quality education support, community health promotion, WASH, disaster preparedness, project management, leadership development, and monitoring and evaluation. During the field assignment, volunteers will identify suitable sites for mangrove and environmental restoration, support community awareness campaigns, engage farmers to promote climate-smart agriculture, facilitate farmer and youth empowerment activities, support vulnerable children and families through ACFMT initiatives, and prepare activity reports and recommendations. The assignment covers Tanzania's wetlands, coastal areas, lowlands, and agricultural landscapes, where volunteers will contribute to restoring natural ecosystems while supporting communities to develop climate-resilient farming practices.

ACFMT is a registered Tanzanian NGO dedicated to improving the quality of life of vulnerable children, families, and communities through integrated interventions in education, food security, child protection, environmental conservation, sustainable agriculture, public health, and community development. Upon successful completion, participants will receive an Official Certificate of Completion from ACFMT. No closing date for applications was specified in the source material.
