Supervisory Information Management Specialist

The U.S. Mission in Tanzania, part of the U.S. Department of State, is hiring a Supervisory Information Management Specialist to serve as the Information Technology Chief in the CDC-Tanzania office. This permanent, full-time supervisory position is open only to current Mission employees and reports to the Deputy Country Director.

The job holder oversees IT services management and support across CDC-Tanzania, leads development and implementation of IT projects, and coordinates day-to-day IT operations. Responsibilities include advising on IT management, planning maintenance and replacement of software and equipment, safeguarding IT systems and data, and training staff on proper use and security of IT equipment. The incumbent also monitors IT resource usage for U.S. Government policy compliance, reviews server system performance, ensures contractor support services, assists in IT operating budgets, and liaises with the CDC Headquarters IT Services Office.

Candidates must hold a Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or Business Administration with a related bachelor's degree, along with either ITIL Foundation or CCNA certification. At least six years of progressively responsible professional work in computer information systems is required, including at least three years managing Microsoft Windows Servers, workstations, and LAN/WAN networks. Two years of supervisory experience and Level 4 speaking, reading, and writing fluency in English and Swahili are also required. All selected candidates must obtain security and medical certificates and pass a background investigation and pre-employment medical exam.

The position is graded LE-1805-11 with promotion potential to LE-11 and an annual salary of TZS 105,131,206. The duty station is Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, with occasional travel and no telework or relocation reimbursement.
