About this role

The U.S. Mission Tanzania, through the Embassy in Dar es Salaam, is seeking a Facilities Project Manager to join its Facility Maintenance office as a senior leadership team member. The position oversees all facilities issues, including grounds upkeep, renovations, and the safety, health, and security of buildings and personnel. The role involves planning, executing, and managing improvement projects, maintenance activities, and repairs within defined scope, timelines, and budgets.

The post holder will help manage budgeting and financial aspects of facilities operations, including cost estimating, resource allocation, and ongoing budget monitoring, and will coordinate annual inspections and maintenance schedules. They will directly supervise both contracted and in-house custodial and grounds maintenance staff, monitor contractor performance in line with statements of work, and ensure project documentation is archived upon completion. Additional duties include coordinating residential make-ready procedures, implementing preventive maintenance and safety inspections of U.S. Government owned and leased properties, and overseeing the housing team on landlord issues.

The position also manages expendable supply operations using the Integrated Logistics Management System and exercises direct supervisory authority over two Family Member Appointment employees and two locally employed staff. The U.S. Mission is part of the U.S. Department of State, and this vacancy is specifically open to U.S.

Citizen Eligible Family Members of all agencies. The full-time position is graded at FP-6 with an annual salary of USD 59,726 and is a permanent appointment not to exceed five years. Occasional travel may be required, no telework is available, and a Top Secret security clearance is required. The duty station is Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
