Strategic Content and Storytelling Manager

The Nature Conservancy is recruiting a Content Strategy and Storytelling Manager to lead editorial strategy and narrative development across its Africa Region. The position serves as the primary architect of TNC's conservation storytelling, translating complex science, policy and community-based work into content that strengthens donor engagement and deepens audience connection with the mission. Day to day, the manager owns the regional content and storytelling strategy, sets an annual editorial roadmap, and defines voice, tone and governance standards. The role identifies, researches and produces features, long-form articles, case studies, donor stories, scripts and impact reports, conducting interviews and field reporting to build authentic, evidence-based narratives.

The incumbent also conceives multimedia projects spanning video, photography, audio and digital formats with creative agencies and production partners, and monitors content performance through analytics and audience insights. Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, media studies, English or a related field, with at least seven years of related experience or an equivalent combination, plus exceptional writing, editing, interviewing and narrative skills and demonstrated editorial pipeline management. Preferred qualifications include eight years of professional experience in content strategy, editorial leadership or journalism, prior work in conservation, environmental, development or nonprofit settings, experience producing stories for donor audiences, familiarity with digital performance metrics, exposure to multiple African countries, a strong portfolio, and excellent project management skills. This full-time post reports to the Director of Marketing and Communications for Africa and is based in any country where TNC has offices, including Kenya, Tanzania, Gabon, Zambia, South Africa and Angola, with no visa sponsorship and roughly 20 percent travel.
