Regional Technical Officer, Community Engagement TB

FHI 360 is recruiting a Regional Technical Officer, Community Engagement for its tuberculosis programme in Tanzania, based in Morogoro. The post-holder provides technical and programmatic oversight for community and facility-based TB prevention, screening, diagnosis, treatment, linkage and continuity of care for adults, children and adolescents, working with civil society organisations, community health workers, and regional and district TB and leprosy coordinators. Day to day, the officer supports the implementation of evidence-based strategies for TB case finding, contact tracing and investigation, and linkage to treatment. They help develop, adapt, field-test and disseminate tools, materials and standard operating procedures for community-based TB work, and collaborate with regional and district coordinators, CSOs and local government officials to keep implementation aligned with national guidelines.

The role assesses capacity gaps among community health workers and CSOs and provides mentorship and tailored technical assistance, conducts supportive supervision, reviews performance data to identify service delivery gaps, and strengthens referral pathways. The officer also analyses treatment continuation data, tracks project indicators, prepares reports and delivers presentations at regional and district meetings. Candidates need a bachelor's degree in social sciences, public health, social work, international development, communication, education, health, nutrition or a related field, plus at least four years of progressively responsible experience in community-based health programming, including HIV prevention, care and treatment or similar projects. Experience with NGOs, CSOs, community health workers, government agencies or private companies is required, along with fluency in English and Swahili, strong analytical and data-use skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and willingness to travel extensively.

The post is full-time and reports to the Senior Regional Technical Officer, Community Engagement, with 50 to 75 percent domestic travel to council and health facility project sites. The annual basic salary range is TZS 52,000,000 to 65,000,000, and applications close on 2026-10-23; apply online with an application letter, CV, certificates and three referees.
