The Regional Director, East and Southern Africa is a senior leadership position at World Renew, a Christian international development and humanitarian organization. This role provides strategic, spiritual, and operational leadership across the East and Southern Africa region, which includes country offices in Zambia, Kenya, Malawi, Tanzania, and Uganda. The Regional Director shapes and advances the regional vision and strategy in alignment with World Renew's global strategic plan, reporting directly to the Chief Program and Impact Officer and serving as a member of the organization's Senior Leadership team. Core responsibilities include leading regional strategy development and implementation, guiding Country Directors and regional staff in executing programs shaped by Christian faith and World Renew's Theology of Development, and ensuring strategic alignment and coherence across regional, country, and program initiatives.
The role requires representing World Renew with donors, churches, civil society organizations, government bodies, and regional forums, while also cultivating strategic partnerships with external organizations. The Regional Director provides supervision and coaching to Country Directors, fosters a Christ-centered team culture, and oversees people development, performance management, and spiritual formation across the region. Operations oversight includes financial stewardship, risk management, and ensuring adherence to humanitarian best practices including the Core Humanitarian Standard and safeguarding commitments. The position is full-time and exempt, based in one of the five country office locations in the region, with an expectation of operating on an in-office schedule of at least two to three days per week.
