Regional Communications Manager

Solidaridad ECA

About this role

Solidaridad East and Central Africa (Solidaridad ECA), part of the international Solidaridad Network, is recruiting a Regional Communications Manager to lead its communications, marketing, visibility and storytelling agenda across the region, including Tanzania. The manager reports to the Managing Director and will position the organisation with donors, partners, governments, businesses and media. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing the regional communications and marketing strategy; strengthening brand positioning, reputation and visibility; and turning programme evidence, results and learning into compelling stories, publications and thought leadership. The post-holder will advise the Managing Director and Regional Leadership Team on strategic messaging and reputational issues, support business development with donor communications and marketing collateral, and partner with programme and PMEL teams to transform evidence into knowledge products.

The role also covers internal communications, budget and agency management, capacity building for country communications focal points, and crisis communications and reputational risk. Applicants need a bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing or a related field, 8 to 10 years of progressive experience in strategic communications or development communications, and at least three years in a managerial, regional or strategic communications position. Proven experience implementing multi-country communications strategies, strong content, storytelling, digital and media skills, and experience strengthening brand and advising senior leadership are required; a master's degree, multi-country work experience and familiarity with sustainability, agriculture or climate sectors are preferred. Solidaridad is an equal opportunity employer offering competitive terms and benefits commensurate with qualifications and experience, within a collaborative, international environment connected to the wider Solidaridad Network.

This regional post offers a multicultural, multi-country working environment and the opportunity to shape how Solidaridad's impact and expertise are communicated. Interested candidates should apply through the Solidaridad ECA career site by 21 September 2026; only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
