About this role
The African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD) is recruiting a Programme Officer, Operations to support the Infrastructure and Transport Unit within the Project Management Unit of the Infrastructure, Corridor Development, and Spatial Planning for Metropolitan Cities and Capitals (ICD-SMC) project. The post holder will report directly to the Head of the Infrastructure and Transport Unit and work closely with the two component Project Officers. Core responsibilities include maintaining the project implementation plan and trackers across all components, supporting planning and reporting cycles, servicing project governance structures such as the Steering Committee and Technical Working Groups, maintaining the results framework and Indicator Tracking Table, and supporting the coherent consolidation of component outputs into the Integrated Corridor Investment Prospectus.
The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, International Relations, Computer or Data Sciences, Project Management, Political Sciences, Economics, or Development Studies combined with a minimum of two years of progressive experience in project management support, coordination, administration, or monitoring and evaluation, preferably within an international, regional, or national development organisation. Project Management certification such as PMP or PRINCE2 is an advantage. Prior experience maintaining workplans, trackers, results frameworks, or M&E systems for multi-country or multi-component projects is highly desirable, alongside familiarity with results-based management, indicator tracking, governance meeting secretariat support, and continuous improvement methodologies such as Kaizen.
The position is full-time and based in Midrand, South Africa, with occasional travel expected. 68 per annum, and a gratuity of 15% of gross salary, in line with African Union internationally recruited staff rules. Applications must be received no later than Monday, 27 July 2026.
