Programme Assistant
About this role
The African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD) invites applications from citizens of African Union Member States for the post of Programme Assistant to support the ICD-SMC project under the supervision of the Project Officer. The Programme Assistant will provide comprehensive administrative, logistical and operational support to the Project Management Unit, ensuring smooth day-to-day project operations across multiple countries. Core duties include effective document management, coordination of meetings and missions, support to procurement and financial recordkeeping, travel and event logistics, and facilitation of communication among project stakeholders including Member States, Regional Economic Communities, development partners and technical consultants. The role contributes to the timely, compliant and efficient delivery of project outputs across all four components.
The minimum requirement is a High School Certificate plus a Diploma in Business Administration, Administrative Management, Public Relations, Creative Writing, Communication, Project Management, Secretarial studies or a related field, with at least five years of progressive experience in project administration support within an international, regional or national organisation. Required competencies include working knowledge of digital collaboration tools such as SharePoint, OneDrive and MS Teams, proficiency in MS Office and SAP ERP, and strong time-management and communication skills. Prior experience in office administration, document management, logistical coordination and supporting governance meetings and events is highly desirable. AUDA-NEPAD is the African Union development agency mandated to drive continental transformation in economic integration, industrialisation, environmental sustainability, human capital development and digital advancement.
The full-time position is based in Midrand, South Africa. 44 per annum and gratuity at 15% of gross salary. Applications must be submitted through the AUDA-NEPAD e-recruitment portal no later than 27 July 2026.
