Westerwelle Startup Haus Arusha (WSHA) is seeking a detail-oriented, proactive, and reliable Program Intern to support the day-to-day data collection, organization, and reporting activities of WSHA programs. WSHA is a startup hub empowering local entrepreneurs and supporting the innovation ecosystem in Tanzania, offering co-working space, in-house incubation and acceleration programmes, and regular ecosystem events. The hub is part of the Westerwelle Foundation, headquartered in Berlin, which currently operates hubs in Rwanda, Tanzania, Tunisia, and Kenya, with support programmes focused on business ideation, proof of concept, and international acceleration. Working closely with the Program Manager and programme teams, the Program Intern will engage directly with programme participants to gather information, organize and prepare data for reports, and maintain Airtable systems accurately and up to date.
This is a hands-on learning opportunity for someone early in their career who is eager to gain practical experience in programme support, data management, and the startup ecosystem. Core responsibilities include collecting programme monitoring data through calls, surveys, interviews, and field interactions, including attendance tracking and baseline, endline, and pre/post assessments. The intern will compile and clean collected data, track programme indicators against targets, and prepare inputs for internal, quarterly, annual, and donor reports, including simple data visualizations and dashboards. Additional duties encompass accurate data entry into WSHA systems, routine quality checks to ensure accuracy and consistency, and documenting lessons learned, success stories, and best practices.
The role also provides general programme support, including coordination with implementing partners on reporting requests and logistics for monitoring visits. Applicants should be recent graduates in business, project management, IT, or a related field, with strong interest in data, monitoring, and programme support. Prior coursework or volunteer exposure to M&E or data entry is advantageous but not required. Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and AI tools is expected, with familiarity in Airtable or Google Sheets as a plus.
