Senior MEAL Coordinator

Mercy Corps Tanzania is seeking to recruit an experienced Senior MEAL Coordinator to support the DREAMS-TZ and Girl-H programs. The position ensures the implementation of consistent standards, processes, and practices of monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning, with the goal of improving the quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of MEAL within these two programs. The Senior MEAL Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing all MEAL activities, developing and implementing robust MEAL frameworks, ensuring data quality and utilization, building the capacity of program staff in MEAL approaches, and facilitating knowledge-sharing and learning across program teams. The role requires a candidate with extensive experience in monitoring, evaluation, and learning within development or humanitarian programs, particularly in adolescent health, HIV prevention, or gender programming.

A Master’s degree in public health, social sciences, statistics, or a related field is typically required, along with a minimum of five to seven years of progressively responsible experience in MEAL positions. Strong analytical skills, experience with data management systems, and familiarity with PEPFAR or US Government donor requirements are essential. Prior experience supporting DREAMS or similar adolescent girls and young women programming is highly desirable. The position is based in Tabora, Tanzania, on a full-time basis, reporting to the designated Program Director or equivalent.
