Inventory & Asset Management Coordinator
About this role
Jaza Energy, a solar energy start-up expanding electricity access across Sub-Saharan Africa, is recruiting an Inventory & Asset Management Coordinator based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The company builds solar-powered shops known as hubs, which charge the batteries customers use to power their homes, and each hub serves hundreds of households while employing women from local communities to run the service. The successful candidate will own the end-to-end management of inventory and physical assets, spanning tracking, maintenance, and disposal, in support of Jaza's rapid growth. Day to day, the coordinator develops and implements scalable inventory policies suited to fast expansion, forecasts needs from project pipelines and supply chain insights, and manages stock levels, reorder points, and safety stock.
The role oversees movement between departments or sites, keeps accurate asset registers covering serial numbers, warranties, and maintenance history, and coordinates preventive and corrective maintenance schedules. The post-holder also works with procurement colleagues on timely sourcing, monitors third-party warehouse and logistics providers, and uses data to track inventory accuracy, turnover, asset utilisation, and downtime. The coordinator supports procurement, operations, and project management staff with shipping trend knowledge and timely requisitions, collaborates with software teams to automate inventory systems, and ensures compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards. Success is measured against targets of 98 per cent inventory accuracy, 85 per cent SOP compliance, and a 20 per cent reduction in inventory variance or loss.
Jaza Energy seeks thorough knowledge of inventory and asset management, proven analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to build relationships with vendors, staff, and customers. Candidates must exercise sound judgment, work to high ethical standards, communicate well in writing and orally, prioritise multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, and be self-motivated while collaborating across teams. This is a full-time position based in Dar es Salaam. The posting does not mention salary, benefits, or a closing date.
