About this role
The African Medicines Agency (AMA), an African Union body established to regulate medical products across the continent, is seeking a Head of Project Delivery Office to provide strategic leadership, management, coordination, monitoring, and oversight of the Agency's Project Delivery Office. Under the supervision of the Chief of Staff, the incumbent shall serve as a member of AMA's operational leadership team, contributing to the design, establishment, and continuous improvement of management systems, operational routines, accountability frameworks, implementation governance mechanisms, partner coordination systems, and institutional delivery architecture during AMA's operationalization phase. The role requires a university Master's degree in Project Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, Strategic Management, Development Studies, Economics, Monitoring and Evaluation, Health Systems Management, International Relations, Organizational Development, or a related field from a recognized institution. Professional certifications in Programme Management, Project Management, PRINCE2, PMP, MSP, or Results-Based Management are an added advantage.
Candidates must have a minimum of eight years of progressively responsible professional experience in programme management, project delivery, strategic planning, organizational performance management, institutional reform, governance implementation, monitoring and evaluation, or related fields, of which at least three years must have been at supervisory or management level within national, regional, continental, or international organizations. Experience in multilateral institutions, public sector organizations, development agencies, health sector institutions, or African Union organs is an added advantage. The African Medicines Agency is an African Union institution created to improve access to safe and effective medical products across Africa and is currently in its operational phase. This is a full-time position based in Midrand, South Africa, reporting to the Chief of Staff.
Remuneration is an annual lump-sum of approximately US$110,951 (P4-Step 5), inclusive of all allowances for internationally recruited staff, and approximately US$92,868 for locally recruited staff. africa.
