Finance Officer
About this role
The African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD) invites applications from citizens of African Union Member States for the position of Finance Officer. Based in Midrand, South Africa, and reporting directly to the Head of Finance, this role provides overall financial management expertise to the organisation. The Finance Officer will be responsible for ensuring sound financial planning, budgeting, and reporting across the agency, while coordinating audits and maintaining strict compliance with World Bank financial management requirements and African Union financial rules and policies. The position demands a comprehensive understanding of public sector finance within a multilateral development context.
Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Audit with at least four years of progressive experience managing finances for donor-funded projects within an international, regional, or national organisation, or a Master's degree with a minimum of two years relevant experience. A Chartered Accountant qualification (CA/CPA/ACCA) is required. The ideal candidate brings proven expertise in development partner reporting, particularly with the World Bank and African Development Bank, along with demonstrated experience applying International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS). Strong analytical, planning, and organisational skills are essential, alongside proficiency in MS Excel and SAP ERP.
